Happy New Year 2014!

Yeah! 2014
The new year has begun and I am fully charged up for more adventures!

Wishing you all the very best to come.

Apologies for not updating the blog for more than a month.
November and December were quite hectic, finishing up recordings and last touches of my 2nd album yet to be unveiled.  I've done a gig for the first time on new year's eve including my latest track, "Restless Moments".  I have yet to fine tune it but have received positive response on this R&B number so far.

"All Star" Performers at Harajuku MOMINOKIHOUSE

While encountering various commitments and challenges last year, I have managed to do approx. 40 gigs as many as in 2012, excluding private ones.  My deepest gratitude for all those guests who have come for me and my regular venues in Roppongi, Akasaka and Shimokitazawa that have always been supportive.  Without you, there is no meaning.  Also, I have been given the opportunity to play at new venues in Harajuku, Ginza and Akihabara via introductions from fellow artists and venues.  Thank you!  Looking forward to more to come in 2014.

krystalcube and Caramel (my Ovation guitar) also collaborated with many artists during the year, among them, KAZU Saito (acoustic guitar), kaz Yakushiji (guitar) and Nobushige Watanabe (bass) .
They've all enriched my gig in wonderful ways.

krystalcube was somewhat playful for Christmas and employed her favorite OP-1 miniature synthesizer to play "Jingle Bells."

From late May, krystalcube began preparing for the second album.

Album's concept was crafted by producer MK, full name yet to be revealed.  Not a secret but just keeping it mysterious for now.  Based on this concept, I've probably written more than 25 songs over 5 months.  MK then chose 8 songs to be recorded for the album.  The final recording was completed on Christmas Eve.  While this was a challenging experience, I have really enjoyed the creative process.  Thanks to MK stretching me, I have come up with songs that I would probably have not written if it weren't for the concept and circumstance.  I've spent a good 6 months.  Currently, engineers are working on the mixing and mastering.  Album cover is still being discussed and I hope to finalize it soon.

The album is scheduled to be ready by early March for distribution.  I've really worked hard on this so please look forward to listening!  A word of appreciation to MK for being focused and patient throughout the process.

I am excited to start 2014 with full of energy to bring more happiness and abundance to our world.  Please join me in this movement.

As always, thank you for always supporting me.

I will try to update this blog a little more frequently...

blessings to u, krystalcube
